My.tel enables you to manage your .tel domain, which can be your single point of contact for all your communications. If you don't have a .tel domain, buy now. If you have a .tel, log into My.tel application to manage your data; you can add public and private contact items, keywords, status information, locations; organize your data into folders, and manage your friend list.

When you first install and open the application, it asks you to log into your .tel for editing. You only need to do this once.

Manage and update your .tel by using My.tel tabs:

Contact Information

Contact information is the central element of your . tel; it can be anything you want: email address, Skype ID, phone number, website link, and so on. Use this screen to manage your contact items.

To add a new contact, touch + and:

  1. Swipe through the left-hand list to select your contact type
  2. (optional) Swipe through the right-hand list to set the contact location, such as home, work, or transit
  3. (optional) Enter a comment or additional details in the Label field; it'll appear in blue in your application, or in grey when viewed in a browser
  4. Enter the contact item value, such as the number for a phone number or the website address for a web link
  5. (optional) Make the item private. By default, a new contact is public, but by tapping the status, you can select with friend groups it belongs to

To edit an existing contact, touch the blue arrow on the right and update as needed. For private cotacts, you can see which friend groups can access this contact, and can manage them.

You can also organize contact items; in the list of contacts, touch Edit and:

Keywords

Keywords can help you identify and characterize yourself and your .tel domain. You can use one of the pre-set keyword categories shown below or F (Free Text) if no category fits your needs.

To add a new keyword, touch +, choose your category, fill in the fields, and click Save to confirm. If you want, you can add an additional label to describe your keyword.

To edit or delete an existing keyword, click Edit, and tap the keyword in the list.

Location

Location includes geographic coordinates that you can set to be the same as your GPS location. If GPS is enabled, you will be offered to set your location when starting My.tel.

You can update this setting on the Location screen. Navigate the map to the spot where you want to set your location, and tap Set .tel marker. You can also switch to your GPS location by using the arrow icon on the left and selecting the appropriate option.

To delete your location, click the Bin icon.

Privacy

Privacy allows you to organize the people you have added into your friend list. You can have a number of friend groups, such as Family or Partners, each with a personalized set of private data they can access. Tap a group to see which data they can see.

By default, you have a group of All Friends, which is your entire friend list. You can add more groups by clicking +. To manage a group, touch its name and see which contact items the group can see. You can also rename or delete the group.

Text

The text message allows you to add an introduction to your .tel. Each profile can have a different status message shown on the Status screen. Tap Edit to add, update or delete the message.

Folders

You can add structure to your .tel by organizing sub-domains, or folders. My.tel displays the currently selected folder (main .tel name or sub-domain name) in the Current Folder field on the Status screen. Tap the name to see what sub-folders you've got.

To switch to a different folder, tap Select, and then Done. You'll return to the main Status screen. Any contact items, status message, or keywords that you enter get added to the currently selected folder. Note that private contacts are only supported in your main folder, not in sub-domains.

To delete a folder, click Edit and then Delete to confirm.

Profiles

A profile is a set of data that you can publish in the DNS with one touch. You can set up profiles for work, leisure, travel, etc., and switch between them to avoid entering many contact items each time your life situation changes. By default, all you add to your .tel gets into your default profile.

To manage profiles, go to Profile on the Status tab; to exit when you've finished, click Done and return to the previous page. You can:
