85  interface, with ".tel actions" with all your controls, a search
86  field, and a button for logging into TelFriends to see friend request messages.

95<h2><a name="View_domains"></a>View .tel domains</h2>

97<p>To view a .tel domain, type in the domain name in the search field, and
98press <b>Enter</b>. The system shows the .tel contacts in a new window. You can
99click any contact, and the plug-in will launch the application assigned to this
100type of contact in your <b>Preferences</b>; for example, clicking a Skype ID
101will launch your Skype application by default. If you want the system to start
102a different application, please configure Outlook launchers.</p>

104<h2><a name="Save_contacts"></a>Save .tel data to Contacts</h2>

106<p>You can save a .tel to your Outlook contacts. For that:</p>

110      <li>To a new contact. Enter the name and (optionally) company of the

128<p>After saving a .tel to a Contact in Outlook, you can always see that  .tel and keep the contact data synchronized with it. To update your
129Contacts, go <b>.tel Actions</b> &gt; <b>Refresh .tel Contacts</b>. The system
130will check whether any .tels have been updated since you saved the contact
131items locally, and will offer to view the .tel or the contact item, if any
132differences are found. </p>

135<p>To import new contact items from a .tel, click <b>View</b>
136and save the new data to your existing contact. </p>

140<p>If you do not know which .tel a given contact uses, go to <b>Contacts</b>
141in Outlook, open the contact and switch to the <b>Add-ins</b> tab. You will see
142.<b>tel Contacts</b> with the .tel domain name, and the "friending&#8221;
143status, which indicates whether the domain may have private data for you:</p>

145  <li>If you are not a friend, the status will be <strong>Not Friended</strong>. Click to open the menu under the status to send a friend request and become a friend. </li>
146  <li> If you are in the list of friends for this domain, you see see the status <strong>Friended</strong>. Click <b>View</b> if you wish to see the full .tel domain content. </li>

153<p>When you first start your .tel plug-in for Outlook, it requests that you
154login to TelFriends. If you don't want to login immediately, or have no
155TelFriends account, skip this step.</p>

157<p>To login later, go to <b>.tel</b> <b>Actions</b> &gt; <b>Preferences</b>
158&gt; <b>TelFriends ID</b>. You can save your username and password, and choose
159to login at startup automatically. This way, the plug-in will log you into
160TelFriends automatically every time Outlook starts, and you will be able to see
161any pending friend requests.</p>

165<p>Here you can configure the domains that you own, so that you can check for
166friend requests and switch the profiles of your domains. If you don't
167have .tel domains, go to <b>.tel Actions</b> &gt; <b>Buy a .tel</b> to see a
168list of companies that sell .tel domains.</p>

172<p>If you have setup profiles in your .tel control panel, you can switch
173between them in your Outlook plug-in. With this option, you don't need to
174log into your .tel control panel to update the set of contact data that is

179<p>You can choose which application is launched when you click certain .tel
180contact items; for example, you can configure Outlook to launch your preferred
181internet browser to open web links in .tel domains. </p>

183<p>Go to .<b>tel Actions</b> &gt; <b>Launchers</b> to see the current settings.
184When you start, the plug-in uses system default settings. If you install new
185applications, click <b>Check Availability</b> to add them to the list of
186available launchers in Outlook. If an application you want to use does not show
187up in the list, click <b>Add a Launcher</b> and navigate to the folder of

193to search for updates automatically, and to set the frequency for these version
194checks. If an update is available, you will be taken to the download website,
